Almaty Mayor and Iranian Ambassador discuss expansion of partnerships

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Almaty Akim Akhmetzhan Yesimov has received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mojtaba Damirchilu, the press office of the Mayor informs.

Head of the city said that Almaty maintains a high level of cooperation with Iran. 77 joint ventures and 262 companies with capital of Iran are registered in the city. "During his visit to Kazakhstan President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev have signed a number of agreements. Almaty, the financial center of the country, plays a significant role in Kazakhstan's cooperation with Iran," said Akhmetzhan Yesimov. He added that Almaty is ready to expand partnerships with Iran within the framework of the Industrial Zone in Alatau district, tourism and IT-technologies. In turn, the Iranian ambassador noted the dynamic development of the republic and the metropolis. "Kazakhstan is an important trade and economic partner of Iran. We also attach great importance to collaboration with Almaty and intend to develop business relationships with the city," concluded M.Damirchilu.
