Almaty has vast tourism potential - Vice President of Bundestag

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - A delegation from Germany led by Vice President of German Bundestag Johannes Singhammer visited Almaty to meet with akim (mayor) of the city Akhmetzhan Yessimov on Monday (April 13).
At the meeting, Almaty mayor lauded the high level of political dialogue and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany that embraces commercial and economic, cultural and educational as well as healthcare spheres. "It is safe to say that Germany is Kazakhstan's key partner in Europe. The two-way trade between Almaty city and Germany totals $1,2 billion or 55% of two-way trade between the two countries," Mr. Yessimov said. The Vice President of the German Bundestag, in turn, expressed gratitude for cordial reception and pointed out vast tourism potential of the city. Currently there are 96 joint Kazakh-German enterprises and 137 enterprises with German capital registered in Almaty city.
