ADB prices $2 billion 10-year global benchmark bond
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has priced a $2 billion 10-year global benchmark bond as it continues to raise funds from international capital markets to support development projects across Asia and the Pacific, Qazinform News Agency cites the Bank’s press service.
The bond, which will form part of ADB’s ordinary capital resources, carries a fixed annual coupon of 4.625%, payable semi-annually, and matures on August 26, 2036. It was priced at 99.431%, providing a yield of 4.8 basis points above the 4.625% U.S. Treasury notes due in August 2036.
“The strong demand for our second 10-year US dollar global benchmark of the year reflects investors' continued confidence in ADB's financial strength and development mandate,” said ADB Treasurer Tobias Hoschka. “This successful transaction enables us to efficiently mobilize resources from global capital markets to support investments that enhance resilience, foster sustainable growth, and improve lives across Asia and the Pacific.”
The transaction was jointly led by BMO Capital Markets, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank and Nomura.
The bond attracted a broad international investor base. Investors in Europe, the Middle East and Africa accounted for 54% of the allocation, while the Americas received 28% and Asia 18%.
By investor category, central banks and official institutions accounted for 44% of the issuance, followed by banks at 33% and fund managers and other investors at 23%.
ADB plans to raise approximately $39 billion to $45 billion from capital markets in 2026.
