8 historical sites of Kazakhstan inscribed on UNESCO list

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Eight historical sites of Kazakhstan were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List," Astana Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said today addressing the first interregional meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO underway in Astana.
"A number of historical sites of Kazakhstan, including the Khodzha Ahmed Yassawi Mausoleum and Tamgaly petroglyphs, natural sites such as lakes and valleys of Sary-Arka and North Kazakhstan, Korgalzhyn and Naurusum reserves were included to the UNESCO list. Another eight sites were added to the list in 2014, broadly, Kayalyk, Karamergen, Talgar, Akyrtas, Kulan, Kostobe and Ornek ancient settlements," he noted.
