6 killed in road accident on Saryozek-Koktal highway
Six people were killed in a road accident on the Saryozek-Koktal highway in the Zhetysu region, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The accident occurred at the 110th kilometer of the highway and involved two Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles.
According to preliminary information, the driver of one of the vehicles entered the oncoming lane and collided with a car traveling in the opposite direction.
Six people died at the scene, while another person sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Police have opened a criminal case over the accident and launched a pre-trial investigation to establish all the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Law enforcement authorities urged drivers to strictly observe traffic regulations, comply with speed limits and take road and weather conditions into account while driving.
