The King Air F90 plane, which can carry up to eight passengers, crashed around 7:20 a.m. local time (1020GMT) and collided with a bus, causing it to burst into flames, Brazilian Globo News reported.

The fire department reported that two charred bodies were found inside the plane.

A motorcyclist passing by was injured by debris, and the bus driver, who was alone in the vehicle, also sustained injuries.

Witnesses described hearing an explosion and seeing a large cloud of black smoke.

The plane had departed from Campo de Marte airport at around 7:15 a.m. and was headed to Porto Alegre in the southeast.

The police and the Brazilian Air Force are investigating the cause of the crash and potential responsibilities.

As earlier reported, a plane with 10 people onboard had been reported missing late Thursday afternoon near Nome, Alaska's westernmost major city.
