1st mass bike ride held in Almaty

ALMATY. August 17. KAZINFORM - The idea of an international veloparade in Almaty is formation of healthy urban traditions. This has been announced today in Almaty at the recent massive international ride bike by the spokesman for the the initiative group of Velotour.kz Vladimir Ivlev. Akim of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yesimov also noted that Almaty became the sports center of the country.

"We want this sports arrangement also to become a large-scale event and recognizable, the original card of Almaty on the tourist map of the world, and to attracted not only Almaty residents, but also visitors to the city, including foreign tourists too," said V.Ivlev.

At the ride there were guests from neighboring countries - Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. The route started from the streets Al-Farabi/Tattimbet and ended at the colonnade of the Park of the First President of Kazakhstan, where the mayor presented the gifts to the honored athletes, as well as the winners of the Summer Universiade, which was recently held in the city of Kazan.

The organizers of the first international bike ride was organized by Almaty city administration and the social group Velotour.kz.
