Yesengali Baimenov named as honorary consul of France in Atyrau

ATYRAU. KAZINFORM - CEO of Mercur Holding in Kazakhstan Yesengali Baimenov has been named as honorary consul of France in Atyrau.

"As the honorary consul Mr. Baimenov will represent France in Atyrau and the Atyrau region. He will render legal and other assistance to the citizens of France residing in the region and help boost economic and cultural cooperation between France and Kazakhstan," Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Kazakhstan Francis Etienne said at the ceremony celebrating the appointment. Jonathan Dassin, the son of legendary French singer Joe Dassin, performed at the ceremony in Atyrau. France is the third largest investor of Kazakhstan after the Netherlands and the U.S. Its investments into Kazakhstan's economy have reached nearly $9 billion to date. Annual sales turnover between the countries exceeds €6.5 billion.
