Uzbekistan’s theater sector in numbers

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan had 41 professional theaters, UzA reports.
In 2025, these theaters staged 11,906 performances, drawing approximately 4.4 million spectators.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the Government of Kazakhstan had allocated 8 billion tenge from reserve funds to complete construction of the Takhaui Akhtanov Drama Theater in Aktobe.
