Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to expand tourism cooperation

Within the framework of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Akkulov, met with a delegation from Saudi Arabia led by Mohammad Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA and Chairman of Vision Invest of Saudi Arabia, UzA reports.

During the negotiations, special attention was given to the formation of modern tourism clusters. In particular, issues related to integrating energy solutions, developing transport and logistics infrastructure, and applying modern urban planning approaches were discussed.

Following the meeting, specific agreements were reached to establish a joint working group, develop a practical action plan, and identify priority investment projects.

Mr. Abunayyan expressed interest in deepening cooperation and invited the Uzbekistan delegation to participate in the Investment Forum in Riyadh in October 2026.

It was also emphasized that the reforms underway in Uzbekistan, the high level of security, and the country’s openness are creating favorable conditions for joint projects.
