The incentive is being offered by the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion and was confirmed by U.S. Army officials after a memorandum circulated on social media.

According to Kotaku, a memo circulating online appears to have been signed by battalion commander Lt. Col. Ryan Hodgson and states that eligible active-duty enlisted soldiers who reenlist between August 1 and November 14, 2026, will receive a special four-day pass.

The pass is “specifically designated to coincide with the highly anticipated release” of Grand Theft Auto VI. The initiative is intended to “promote retention, boost morale, and reward the continued dedication” of soldiers serving in the battalion.

The incentive applies only to eligible personnel assigned or attached to the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion and is not an Army-wide program.

The four-day break is expected to coincide with the game's launch, with the exact dates coordinated between soldiers and their chain of command.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company described the title as its “deepest and most immersive GTA experience yet.”

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Rockstar Games had announced the pre-order date and unveiled the official cover art for Grand Theft Auto VI.
