The negotiations were held at the Bürgenstock resort near Lake Lucerne with the participation of representatives of the United States, Iran and the two mediating countries, Qatar and Pakistan.

According to the statement, the talks took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with the sides making “encouraging progress” and establishing a mechanism for further technical negotiations.

The parties agreed to create a High-Level Committee to provide political oversight of the mediation process. Chief negotiators will regularly report to the committee and lead working groups dealing with nuclear issues, sanctions, monitoring and dispute resolution, as well as other matters related to the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

The committee also approved a roadmap designed to produce a final agreement within 60 days. Further technical talks are expected to begin immediately and continue at the Bürgenstock resort throughout the remainder of the week.

A direct communication channel between the United States and Iran has also been established to prevent incidents and misunderstandings and to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, the parties agreed to create a de-confliction cell involving the United States, Iran and Lebanon, with the support of Qatar and Pakistan. The mechanism is intended to ensure compliance with the agreement to end military operations in Lebanon.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that delegations from the United States and Iran, along with mediators from Qatar and Pakistan, had arrived in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, for technical talks.
