UNESCO: Kazakhstan is one of the leaders of inter-cultural and interfaith dialogue
ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan has a key role to play in ensuring strategic structure for the international community to promote inter-cultural and interfaith dialogue," Eric Falt, Assistant Director-General for External Relations and Public Information of UNESCO, said today addressing the first international meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO in Astana.
"On behalf of Ms. Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General, and my own behalf I would like to express gratitude to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev for the encouraging message. I would like also to express my sincere gratitude to Kazakhstan's Commission for UNESCO with Culture Minister A. Mukhamediuly in charge for the proposal to hold the first interregional meeting here, in the dynamic capital of Kazakhstan, Astana," he noted.
"Let me compliment Kazakhstan for its significant efforts in the UNESCO mission, particularly, for its huge cultural heritage and diversity," he stressed.
As earlier reported, representatives from 125 countries arrived in Astana to take part in the first interregional meeting of the National Commissions for UNESCO.
