Taxi driver sentenced to 18 years for murdering girl in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - A taxi driver has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for brutally killing a girl in Almaty city.
A judge of the Almaty criminal court gave Vitaly Atapin the 18-year jail sentence for killing Aisulu Zhambarbek, 16, in a brutal attack in 2013. Aisulu went missing on December 28, 2013 on her way home. The Almaty police found out that the girl took a taxi and was killed by the taxi driver who wanted to seize her cell phone and money. Aisulu's body was discovered on January 3, 2014. The taxi driver was detained and later admitted to murdering the girl.
