Tajikistan inaugurates new 30,000-seat national stadium

On the eve of Tajikistan’s 35th independence anniversary, the country inaugurated a new national stadium in the capital. The opening ceremony was attended by President Emomali Rahmon and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali, Qazinform News Agency reports.

The stadium, built on a 9.5‑hectare site, has a seating capacity of more than 30,000 spectators. The complex is divided into two tiers, with over 12,000 seats on the lower level and 18,000 on the upper tier.

Covering more than 42,000 square meters, the five‑storey facility rises to a height of 33 meters and includes a basement.

At its center lies a modern football pitch measuring 7,140 square meters.

The field of play size - 105 m x 68 m - complies with FIFA regulations for international matches and World Cup fixtures.

President Rahmon described the opening of the National Stadium as a “worthy gift to the people of the country.”

Earlier, it was reported that Kyzylorda officially joined Almaty and Astana, as the only cities in Kazakhstan eligible to host top-tier European football matches.
