The corresponding decision was made at the meeting that brought together the executives of the country's tourism development committee, tourist companies, hotels, restaurants, and air companies.

11 companies were defined as the founders of the National Tourism Association. Head of the association Umed Saidov said the development of such a structure is an important move toward consolidating the tourism potential.

The association aims to boost cooperation between state and private sectors, protect the interests of entrepreneurs, raise the quality of services, and promote the tourism potential of Tajikistan in the international arena.

Over 1.7 million people, including 37,000 Kazakhstanis, visited Tajikistan last year, that is 27.5% more compared to the previous year.

Notably, Kazakhstan set to launch unified tourism portal in December.
