Strong heatwave to bake south of Kazakhstan

Air temperatures are expected to soar as high as 40 degrees Celsius in the south of Kazakhstan, Qazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.

The cyclone shifting from Uzbekistan will bring rains and thunderstorms, high winds and dust storms to most of Kazakhstan.

Air temperatures will drop to comfortable 23-28 degrees Celsius in the country’s northern and central parts.

The southern and eastern regions will brace for a heatwave with mercury reading 33-38, locally 40 degrees Celsius.
