Stromae hits 1B streams on Spotify
Stromae’s global hit “Alors on danse” has officially surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, Qazinform News Agency reports.
According to Belga News Agency, released in 2010 on his debut album Cheese, the track catapulted the Brussels-born artist to international fame and inspired countless remixes and covers. With this milestone, Stromae joins Spotify’s exclusive “Billions Club”, reserved for songs that have crossed the billion-stream threshold.
He is now one of three Belgian artists in the club, alongside Gotye - whose “Somebody That I Used to Know” has amassed 2.5 billion streams - and DJ Lost Frequencies, with “Where Are You Now” (1.75 billion) and “Are You with Me” (1.4 billion).
In 2023, Stromae became only the second French artist – after Indila – to surpass one billion YouTube views with a French-language song, thanks to “Papaoutai”.
After a hiatus, Stromae returned in 2021 with the single “Sante”, followed by “L’Enfer” and the acclaimed album Multitude in 2022. A world tour launched soon after but was cut short in March 2023 due to health concerns. Since then, he has kept a low profile.
Earlier, it was reported that Dimash had unveiled the concept for the first chapter of DIMENSIONS world tour.
