State Counselor Karin holds national meeting on domestic policy
Kazakh State Counselor Erlan Karin on Saturday chaired a regular national meeting on domestic policy issues, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Akorda.
The meeting brought together government members, heads of structural divisions of the Presidential Administration, deputy governors of regions and deputy mayors of cities of republican significance, as well as heads of regional departments.
In his remarks, the State Counselor emphasized that the entry into force of the Constitution marked the beginning of a new stage in Kazakhstan’s modern history, providing the foundation for a renewed, modern, and dynamically developing state and political model.
According to Karin, a key feature of this new stage of development is the restart of social processes and the emergence of new social forces and public figures. As a result, these transformations rank among the most significant and large-scale developments of recent decades.
“Society has already felt the strength and effectiveness of the ongoing changes and reforms, as well as their necessity and importance, which further contributes to the consolidation of citizens around the strategy of the Head of State. This is reflected in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s high public approval rating of 86.7%.
The results of the reforms are also evident in other sociological surveys, according to which more than 84% of citizens believe that Kazakhstan is moving in the right direction. However, we must not slow down or stop at what has been achieved. We must continue moving forward. Our common task is to respond effectively to citizens’ concerns, promote a constructive agenda and new constitutional values, and ensure the high-quality implementation of the President’s initiatives,” the State Counselor stressed.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the implementation of the Constitution and the promotion of new constitutional principles, as well as efforts to strengthen interethnic and interfaith harmony. Other topics included cooperation with public associations and experts, and issues related to cultural and humanitarian policy, information policy, family affairs, and youth policy.
Following the meeting, specific instructions were issued to the relevant government agencies for the practical implementation of key domestic policy priorities.
Earlier, State Counselor Erlan Karin commented on the President's signing of a number of constitutional laws, noting that this step marks the compleiton of the second stage of the constitutional reform in Kazakhstan.
