Silk Way Star Season 2 starts in China's Yiwu
The official opening ceremony for the second season of the international vocal show Silk Way Star took place in Yiwu, China, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The project is being filmed by China’s national television channel CCTV.
The large-scale TV project features top vocalists from 12 countries: Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Türkiye, Serbia, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, and Georgia.
Singer Rukhiya Baidukenova represents Kazakhstan in the show.
Silk Way Star is the first Kazakh cultural and media project being implemented abroad.
In 2025, the Silk Way Star grand finale was held for the first time in Astana and broadcast live in six languages. All ten episodes of the competition were shown on Jibek Joly and Silk Way channels.
