Share of small and medium-sized business of Almaty in GRP set record heights as result of 2014
ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Mayor of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov held a sitting of the Business Council. Members of the council, representatives of the National Entrepreneurship Chamber and heads of state bodies took part in the sitting.
As the press service of the Mayor of Almaty informs, A. Yessimov noted the positive dynamics of development of small and medium-sized business in Almaty. Thus, the number of active business entities in Almaty made 175 958, which is a 12.7% increase compared to the previous year. The number of people employed with the small and medium-sized business is 460 050. The volume of products made by this sector reaches 3.3 trln tenge. The share of small and medium-sized business in the GRP made record-setting 30% as of the end of 2014.
"Almaty sees growth in all spheres of the economy. The GRP made 7.1% as a result of 2014. As a result of the first four months of the year, Almaty collected 33% of taxes of the entire country," the Mayor said.
He also noted that the record setting tax collection in Almaty was not a mere result of increased production but also thanks to the work of state bodies on improvement of the tax administration.
