Senate and Majilis Chairmen partake in CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg

During the meeting, representatives of the CIS Assembly discussed the results of the IPA CIS Council of Heads of States and the Council of CIS Heads of Governments, as well as a number of other issues relating to the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation among CIS. The session has elected Valentina Matvienko the new chairwoman of the IPA CIS. The round table negotiated on the employment of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC PA) Secretariat's human resources by IPA CIS due to termination of this inter-parliamentary structure. In conclusion, the speaker of the Majilis awarded diplomas to the Chairwoman of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev, and the Chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin.
