Security issues are the key tasks of 2030 Development Strategy, N. Nazarbayev

ASTANA. March 6. KAIZINFORM Today Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has chaired the first meeting of the Security Council this year.

Two issues concerning the country's water safety and military-economic and military-technical activities of security agencies were on its agenda, the President's press service reports.

Special attention was paid to settlement of priority tasks on improving quality of drinking water, introduction of modern water consumption and water saving technologies in the agricultural sector, housing and public utilities.

Agriculture Minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov made the report on the first issue.

Debating the second issue Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev noted, the authorities pay great attention to furthering security and the country's defensive capacity and law enforcement. It is one of the priorities of the state policy.

The volume of state defense order has increased significantly for the last few years creating necessary conditions for the development and improvement of the country's security agencies' infrastructure. Last October the President approved the new Military Doctrine which prioritizes military-economic maintenance tasks.


Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov made the keynote report.

Following the results of the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev encharged the Government, concerned state agencies with tasks. The Security Council secretariat shall be charged with supervising the execution of the tasks.
