The former Barcelona and AC Milan star was introduced to thousands of supporters on Thursday during Ravenna's team presentation at Marina di Ravenna. Ronaldinho, who signed with the club in June and has also taken a stake in the team, will be officially registered as a player and eligible to compete in Serie C.

The Brazilian hopes to score his 300th career goal during his time with Ravenna.

"If that happens, it will be even more beautiful," Ronaldinho said.

"I don't know, that depends on the president, on the trainer. I came here because of the friendship we have. We'll wait for the squad to do well. I'm here to help," he added.

Ravenna President Ignazio Cipriani said he hopes Ronaldinho's arrival will have a lasting impact on the club.

"He was my idol as a child, and his influence on the game goes far beyond football," Cipriani said.

"I hope his presence will inspire a new generation of fans to fall in love with Ravenna FC and become part of what we are building for the future," he added.

The club has also unveiled a special jersey for Ronaldinho, combining Ravenna's historic heritage with a contemporary design.

The 2002 World Cup winner and 2005 Ballon d'Or recipient last played professionally for Fluminense in 2015 before announcing his retirement in 2018.

Ravenna finished third in Serie C Group B last season and is aiming to return to Serie B.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Cristiano Ronaldo said the new football season would “probably” be his last as the Portuguese star prepares to bring his illustrious career to an end.
