Rare golden eagles released into the wild in Almaty (PHOTO)

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan Institute of Zoology in collaboration with the flesh-bird nursery "Sunkar" have released 3 golden eagles in their natural habitat.

The event was part of the program called "Do your share. Save the nature" the purpose of which is to develop the scientific foundations for the preservation and restoration of the golden eagle listed in the Red Book. "This is not the first generation of eagles grown in the nursery and released into the wild. In the past year we released 7 birds. This program is designed to draw attention to one of the main Kazakhstan's objects of interests - the golden eagle which population is decreasing," said the director of the nursery Ashot Anzorov. It should be noted that according to approximate estimates the population of golden eagles in Kazakhstan is about 2 thousand species.
