Polpharma to launch production of new medicines in Kazakhstan
On the sidelines of the 36th plenary meeting of the Foreign Investors' Council in Astana, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Jerzy Starak, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Polpharma. The parties discussed the expansion of the pharmaceutical company’s activity in Kazakhstan and in Central Asian region, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
The President was informed about completion of the construction of the company’s quality control laboratory and a scientific-research testing center, as well as the plans to launch production of new medicines in the nearest future.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of the development of Kazakhstan’s scientific and research potential in pharmaceutical industry and implementation of training programs. He thanked the Polish investor for prompt response in provision of medicines to the flood-hit regions of Kazakhstan in spring 2024.
Upon completion of the meeting, Jerzy Starak handed over two books to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The first book is about shooting a documentary film sponsored by Polpharma. The work features sacred places of Kazakhstan such as Beket-ata, the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi Mausoleum, Arystan-Bab, Tamgaly petroglyphs and the Botai settlement. The second book is a biographical anthology about Kemel Tokayev, Kazakh writer and veteran of the Great Patriotic War, who participated in the liberation of Poland from the fascist invaders. The book was published with the support of the Polish-Kazakh Historical Commission.
