Polish Embassy in Kazakhstan awarded Kazakhstani and Polish companies

ALMATY. December 8. KAZINFORM - At an Almaty-hosted meeting of Polish and Kazakh business representatives, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Kazakhstan Jacek Klyuchkovski shared on progress in economic cooperation between the two countries over the expiring year and tallied up its results.

Mr. Klyuchkovski noted that 2013 was successful and fruitful for both countries. During this year partners from Kazakhstan and Poland have held many working meetings, important events in the development of bilateral relations took place, including business fora and exhibitions. It was this year that the governments have launched a program to promote Polish exports.

"For the first nine months of this year, the trade turnover between Poland and Kazakhstan amounted to 910 million dollars, but by the yearend, I believe, it will exceed USD 1 billion. Exports of goods from Kazakhstan to Poland amounted to 558 million dollars, while imports from Poland to Kazakhstan - 351 million dollars ", - stated the ambassador.

Andrzej Stefansky, First Secretary and Head of the department of T&IPS of the Polish Embassy in Kazakhstan named dominant positions of Polish exports to Kazakhstan, which are machinery and mechanical equipment, hygiene products, electrical equipment, pharmaceutical products, perfume and cosmetics.

"The dominant positions of Polish imports from Kazakhstan are mineral products, natural gas, coal and inorganic chemicals, " - added A.Stefansky .

At the meeting, which was held for the eighth time in Almaty, the ambassador, Jacek Klyuchkovski presented awards "For active participation in the development of economic relations" to Kazakhstani and Polish firms, among them is the law firm "Halas and partners", LLP "Bumar", "Ms and Company", company "Dressta" and Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund.
