PM Bektenov surveys construction of transport-logistics complex in Kordai
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has paid a working visit to Zhambyl region to explore the region’s socio-economic development, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Government’s press service.
Governor of the region Yerbol Karashukeyev reported to the Prime Minister on the main economic indicators.
According to him, in 2024, the region’s gross regional product reached 2.2 trillion tenge. Industrial output made 188 billion tenge, including 122.5 billion tenge in processing industry.
During his working trip, Olzhas Bektenov surveyed the Alatau Trade Logistics Complex.
In Kordai district, the Prime Minister visited the territory of the Industrial Trade and Logistics Center, adjacent to Kazakhstan’s Karasu border checkpoint and Kyrgyzstan’s Ak-Tilek border checkpoint.
The project is being implemented in line with the two countries’ presidents’ directives to raise mutual trade turnover to $3 billion.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan Rapil Zhoshybayev and Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Economy and Commerce Bakyt Sydykov told Olzhas Bektenov about joint work conducted in this area.
Work is underway to create infrastructure for cooperation projects in the manufacture of dairy products, meat, berry and vegetable, textile, pharmaceutical products, etc. The goal is to produce new goods and ensure their further sale with effective integration into the international commodity distribution systems.
Director of the managing company of Romsey Holdings KZ LLP Abzal Mynbayev reported on attraction of investment to the territory of ITLC and plans to launch enterprises specializing on processing of agricultural products, food plastic, manufacture of cable products and porcelain tableware in Kazakhstan. The total amount of investment in the project is set to make 40 billion tenge.
The Head of the Government also surveyed KORCEM LLP cement factory launched in 2024. The capacity of the plant is 1.3 million tons of cement per year. The product is sold at the domestic market and is exported to Uzbekistan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.
The factory applies advanced technologies at the production facilities, such as enhanced emission filtration systems and dust collection devices. As per international standards, an intelligent DCS system has been implemented at the plant. The entire production cycle is monitored from the central control panel.
The Prime Minister set a task to the Ministry of Industry and Construction to assist the plant in supply of home-produced cement to the domestic market and expand export markets.
Earlier, at the Government's weekly meeting, Olzhas Bektenov set tasks to the regions to ramp up preparations for fire danger period.
