Partnership with Turkic-speaking states is of high importance for us - A. Yesimov

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Almaty Akim Akhmetzhan Yesimov has received the members of the Council of Elders (Aksakals) of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states.

The sides discussed the issues of the seventh meeting of the Turkic Council which is taking place these days in the southern capital of Kazakhstan, the press service of the city Akim reports. Yesimov noted the special contribution of the Council in strengthening the fraternal cooperation of Turkic peoples. "This year Almaty declared the cultural capital of the CIS. In 2015, our city will be the capital of Islamic culture under the auspices of ISESCO. Therefore it is important for us to cooperate and exchange experiences with the Turkic-speaking countries. Our states have all the conditions for further strengthening of multilateral collaboration. The seventh meeting of the Council will promote mutual partnership between our brotherly countries", said A.Yesimov. In turn, the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States Khalil Akynzhi noted that the organization was formed on the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev. "The first summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries was held in Almaty in 2011. Therefore, this city has a great importance for us. And today Almaty for the first time hosts a summit of the Turkic Council which is very important for the development of friendly relations between our states", said K.Akynzhi.
