Pacific-Asian Curling Championship to be held in Almaty
ALMATY. KAZINFORM - The Pacific-Asian Curling Championship will be held in Almaty this November, head of the department for international sports projects of Almaty city Ilya Urazakov told at the press conference today.
"President of the World Curling Federation Kate Caithness and specialist of the WCF Leif Ohman arrived in Almaty today. The purpose of the visit is to familiarize with the sports facilities of the city and the level of development of curling in the country and choose the arena for holding the Pacific-Asian Curling Championship," I. Urazakov said.
According to him, the curling championship will be held in the B. Sholak Sports Palace and this event is going to be another important step on the way to the Universiade-2017.
"The visit of WCF president Kate Caithness, her recommendations will not only give additional impetus for preparation and holding of the championship in the country at a high level, but also help us to popularize curling in Kazakhstan," he added.
