Myrzhakyp Dulatov and Dimash: Kazakh cultural code presented in Beijing
Leading Kazakh publishing houses showcased national literature in Beijing at the Kazakhstan Cultural Center in China, Qazinform News Agency reports.
The meeting “Kazakhstan publishing: Promoting national literature globally” featured presentations of modern Kazakh poetry, prose, and photo albums on national identity and historical memory.
President of the Association of publishers, printers and book distributors of Kazakhstan Adil Koitanov, director of the Kazakh National Library Gaziza Nurgaliyeva, Atamura corporation president Rakhymgali Kul-Mukhammed, director of the NOMAD cultural fund Bayan Kabylash and others took the floor during the meeting.
As part of the event, member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, poet Almas Akhmetbek presented the Selected Poems of Modern Kazakh Poetry translated into Chinese.
Publisher Gaukhar Saymasayeva presented new landmark books, including “Dimash Kudaibergen: Endless Music” and “Turkistan” photo albums.
The novel “Bakhytsyz Zhamal” (Unhappy Zhamal) by Myrzhakyp Dulatov was showcased, alongside works on Kazakh traditions, yurt culture, and contemporary Kazakh authors.
Kazakh publishers emphasized strengthening ties with Chinese partners, including digital education projects such as Smart Class and the integration of Kazakh e-textbooks into interactive school equipment developed in Shenzhen.
At the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair, underway from June 16 to 21, Kazakhstan presented two key novelties. The first is “Turkistan” photo album, and the second is “Dimash Kudaibergen: Endless Music”, awarded for best design this year.
Books will be donated to the National Library of China, with major presentations planned in Astana and Almaty in July.
Those present emphasized the significance of such events to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the publishers of Kazakhstan and China and deepen humanitarian ties.
