Mudslides and landslides kill 16 in eastern China

Days of heavy rainfall caused a series of geological disasters across the county, resulting in casualties and widespread disruption.

More than 18,000 residents had been evacuated by Wednesday afternoon as authorities continued emergency response and relief efforts.

Earlier, it was reported the death toll from floods on the Nepal-China border hit 1,400, with over 5,800 still missing.
