Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week starts in Almaty

At the press conference, the organizers noted that the venue would have showrooms, backstage zones and there was going to be a presentation of a new Mercedes-Benz car as a title sponsor.

"The main purpose of the event is promotion of Kazakhstani designers in the international arena, development of a demand and interest in the local market. Over the previous seasons of the event, representatives of Vogue (Italy), The New York Times (USA), Elle (Italy) and others visited Almaty, it certainly helps to popularize the image of Kazakhstan in the world fashion arena," Director General of the event Zhanel Bartayeva noted.

According to her, a separate show-case of five designers from Kazakhstan was held for the first time within the London Fashion Week. Moreover, the works of the designers-participants of the fashion Week in Almaty are planned to be sold online with a worldwide shipping option.
