Majilis Speaker, Austrian national council vice-Speaker discuss bilateral coop
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Speaker of the Majilis Kabibulla Dzhakupov has met with Deputy Chairman of the National Council of the Parliament of Austria Karlheinz Kopf who arrived in our country to participate in 8th Astana Economic Forum.
Vice-Speaker of the National Council stressed the importance of the fact that Astana has once again brought together representatives from different countries to discuss political and economic issues. The two sides agreed that Astana and Vienna are important and reliable partners. According to Mr.Kopf, Kazakhstan copes with the role of intermediary in Europe and Central Asia. Kabibulla Dzhakupov also noted that our country contributes to the further development of inter-cultural, inter-religious dialogue between East and West, North and South. He recalled that Astana will hold a Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Speaking about trade and economic cooperation Kabibulla Dzhakupov invited Austrian business people to more actively participate in the implementation of industrial and innovative projects in Kazakhstan in the framework of the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol" and FIID. The Speaker noted that the volume of bilateral trade in the past year amounted to $3.1 billion.
