Leap of death in Brazil: Young woman dies in horrific bungee accident

According to preliminary findings staff from the organizing company allegedly failed to secure the safety rope before she leapt from the Esqueleto Bridge. As a result, she fell to her death in front of shocked onlookers.

A video of the incident, widely shared on social media, shows the safety line still attached to the bridge structure while the victim plunges into the void.

Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and to establish responsibility.

Earlier, it was reported that Spanish prosecutors had requested pretrial detention with the possibility of release on a €1 million bail for Jonathan Andic, the son of Mango founder Isak Andic, as part of the investigation into the businessman’s death.
