State Secretary of Kyrgyzstan Suyunbek Kasmambetov congratulated the citizens on the holiday.

He said that the national dress of each nation is an amazing sight, reflecting the culture and history of this nation.

"Our national dress, starting with Ak Kalpak, is also closely connected with the history of our people and has survived to this day as an important element of cultural heritage, constituting an integral part of its life," Kasmambetov said.

“Today we live in the era of globalization and face problems that can lead to us forgetting or losing both our history and our cultural heritage against the backdrop of rapidly developing technologies. In a world full of constant changes, we must remember that our main task is to pass on to our children the heritage, language and traditions of our ancestors,” the secretary of state of Kyrgyzstan emphasized.

Ak Kalpak Day was established in Kyrgyzstan in 2011 and is celebrated annually on March 5.

Ak Kalpak was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2019.

Previously, it was reported that Kyrgyzstan joined Green Agriculture Initiative as pilot country.
