Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan border agencies' chairmen agree on joint border patrols
BISHKEK. August 27. KAZINFORM - Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan on Monday hosted a meeting within a session themed "Issyk-Kul Initiative", the talks were attended by the reps of the Border Guard Service for the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the Department of Public Relations and Media for the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, Lieutenant General Nurlan Dzhulamanov, Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee and Director of the National Security Committee of Border Service of Kazakhstan, and Colonel Kurmanakun Matenov, Chairman of State Border Service of the Kyrgyzstan, discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation. Following the negotiations there was signed a Protocol of the working meeting of delegations, which identified common measures for the protection of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz state border.
From 26 to 27 August the Issyk-Kul region has held "Issyk-Kul initiative" negotiations which has involved the heads of border departments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
