Kazakhstan's Shevchenko cruises into Bratislava Challenger final

Alexander Shevchenko won his semifinal match at the Challenger tournament in Slovakia, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.

Shevchenko (97th in the world) and seeded first in the tournament, faced Ukraine's Vitaliy Sachko (ranked 215th) in the semifinals. The match lasted two sets and ended with the Kazakhstani player winning 6-4, 6-3. They spent 1 hour and 37 minutes on court. During that time, Alexander served five aces and converted four of 14 break point opportunities.

He will now play in the Bratislava final against the winner of the match between Italy's Federico Cinà and Japan's Taro Daniel.

Earlier, Alexander Shevchenko overcame Czech player Maxim Mrva.
