Kazakhstanis advised not to travel to Iran, Foreign Ministry

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry issued a recommendation for citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, First Deputy Foreign Minister Yerzhan Ashikbayev told a Senate briefing, Qazinform News Agency reports.

He said the Ministry continuously monitors global situations, including political instability, natural disasters, and economic challenges, emphasizing that protection of the rights and interests of Kazakh citizens abroad remains a key foreign policy objective.

He stressed Iran is currently not recommended for visits by Kazakh citizens.

It should be noted, authorities also track epidemiological risks, particularly in African countries. He noted that a full list of African countries not recommended for travel will be released separately.

As written before, Kazakhstan’s flagship airline Air Astana plans to resume regular flights to Dubai from Almaty on June 20, and from Astana on July 10.
