Kazakhstan to crown Miss Kazakhstan 2014 in November
ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Organizers of Miss Kazakhstan 2014 beauty pageant announced Wednesday the rules of the contest had been altered dramatically. From now the pageant's winner will be chosen through popular vote.
"We are happy to announce that starting from this year the Miss Kazakhstan pageant is incorporating a countrywide fan vote. Judges at the pageant are to pick three most outstanding finalists. And after that citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to vote online at the official website of the pageant or cast their vote for the finalist of their choice via SMS," president of the Miss Kazakhstan pageant Alyona Rivlina-Kyrbassova told a press conference in Almaty. According to her, the results will be posted on the pageant's official website after the show. "We've introduced the fan vote for the first time in the history of the Miss Kazakhstan competition to make it more transparent. And we hope it will become an annual tradition," she added. In addition, the winner will receive a KZT 1 million prize and a bejeweled tiara. The Miss Kazakhstan 2014 beauty pageant is set to be held in Almaty on November 28. Singer Luina, athlete Ilya Ilyin, showman Marat Oralgazin, singer Ali Okapov and Miss Almaty-2010 winner Saltanat Bekzhigitova will be the jury of the contest.
