Kazakhstan to channel 13 mln tenge to energy and utilities modernization

Kazakhstan is developing the 2025-2029 Energy and Utilities Modernization national project with a total investment of up to 13 trillion tenge, Qazinform News Agency cites the Government’s press service.

Of which 6.8 trillion tenge will be directed to the utilities sector, and another 6.2 trillion to the energy sector. The project includes over 200 infrastructure facilities.

One of the key indicators is the network’s wear reduction by 40% which is expected to reduce breakdowns by 20%.

Last year, 547 billion tenge was allocated for the project development to repair 6,600 km of utilities networks.

Development of five large projects was concluded in Karaganda, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and Turkistan regions as well as Shymkent.

The Energy Ministry approved 393 projects worth 990.9 billion tenge in the sphere of power and heating utilities up to 12,000 km.

256 electricity supply projects worth 541.7 billion tenge with a total network length up to 11,714 km, and 137 heating supply projects worth 449.2 billion tenge with network length up to 314 km are underway.

The Government approved financing for 2026 up to 1.1 trillion tenge.
