Kazakhstan's chairmanship to propel CIS to new level, view
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Majilis Speaker of Kazakhstan Kabibulla Dzhakupov and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko met on the sidelines of the CIS PA sessions in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Kazinform has learnt from the chamber's press service.
At the meeting, the sides tabled relevant issues of bilateral cooperation, having praised the role of the presidents in Kazakhstan-Russia interaction. Ms Matviyenko stressed that both Kazakhstani and Russian parliamentarians are to ensure implementation of the agreements reached between the countries and contribute to the expansion of bilateral cooperation in various spheres. Utmost attention was paid to the recent Address to the Nation delivered by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev "Nurly zhol - Path to the Future". Mr. Dzhakupov spoke in detail about key aspects of the new economy policy of Kazakhstan initiated by President Nazarbayev. The sides also touched upon forthcoming chairmanship of Kazakhstan of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2015. The Russian diplomat expressed confidence that Kazakhstan's chairmanship will propel the CIS to a brand new level.
