Kazakhstan ready to assist in resolving Iranian nuclear issue - President Tokayev

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira have discussed the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program during talks in Astana, Qaziform News Agency reports, citing Akorda.

Tokayev emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts between Kazakhstan and Brazil on international security, nuclear disarmament, and non-proliferation issues.

The two sides also focused on the need for reform of the United Nations and its structures, as well as the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program.

Reaffirming Kazakhstan's commitment to the exclusively peaceful use of nuclear energy under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Tokayev highlighted the country’s strong international reputation in ​​nuclear non-proliferation, as well as its infrastructure, expertise, and scientific and technical base for the safe handling of sensitive nuclear materials.
