In the global ranking, which covered 82 countries, Kazakhstan placed 53rd, ahead of all other regional nations included in the study.

For comparison, other post-Soviet states ranked as follows:

  • Moldova — 56th
  • Azerbaijan — 66th
  • Armenia — 74th
  • Uzbekistan — 75th

Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Ukraine were not included in the study.

The authors of the ranking evaluated countries based on 34 indicators grouped into 16 categories, including safety, healthcare and education quality, environmental conditions, job opportunities, cost of living, housing affordability, public transport development, family support, and the presence of sizeable migrant communities.

Switzerland topped the global ranking.

Remitly noted that the index considered not only economic indicators but also overall quality of life, safety, family comfort, and long-term migrant integration opportunities.

According to the study, modern migrants' key criteria remain quality of life, safety, access to medical services, and opportunities for building a long-term future. On these combined factors, Kazakhstan emerged as the best CIS country in the 2026 ranking.

As previously reported, Kazakhstan leads Central Asia in the global reputation ranking.
