Kazakhstan of utmost interest for Germany: Consul General
ALMATY. October 23. KAZINFORM The other day mayor of Almaty city Akhmetzhan Yessimov met with reappointed Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Grau in Almaty, the mayor's press service reports.
While discussing the prospects of development of the bilateral relations with the head of the city, the German diplomat noted further consolidation of ties with Kazakhstan, and Almaty especially, was of paramount importance for Germany.
"My last visit to Almaty was back in 2006. Since then, Almaty has changed for the better. The number of companies with German capital at the Kazakhstani market is growing. For German business Kazakhstan and Almaty are of the utmost interest," Michael Grau added.
Akhmetzhan Yessimov, in his turn, paid attention of his guest to the fact that Almaty is a financial center of the country and the only non-energy donor in Kazakhstan. "Kazakhstan and Germany may develop their mutual cooperation in the sphere of innovative technologies and tourism. We started the construction of an industrial zone in the Alatau district and a world-class ski resort Kok-Zhailau," the mayor stressed.
The Consul General expressed interest in further cooperation with Almaty. At the moment there are 415 enterprises with German capital in the city.
