Kazakhstan leads Central Asia in trade with China in Q1 2026
Kazakhstan has retained its position as Central Asia’s top trading partner with China in the first quarter of 2026, Qazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Figures from China’s General Administration of Customs show that trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China reached 13.2 billion US dollars, marking a sharp 46.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This performance significantly surpasses that of other countries in the region.
Uzbekistan ranked second with 4.1 billion US dollars in trade (up 36.7 percent), followed by Kyrgyzstan with 4 billion US dollars, although its trade volume declined by 34.4 percent.
Turkmenistan’s trade with China totaled 2.2 billion US dollars, down 4.3 percent, while Tajikistan recorded growth, reaching 1 billion US dollars (up 19 percent).
