Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan reaffirm commitment to strategic partnership and allied relations development
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marlen Mamataliyev, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
Welcoming the high-profile guest, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the particular significance of his first official visit to Kazakhstan for strengthening bilateral relations.
The Head of State expressed confidence that the visit of the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament to Astana would given a new impetus to the bilateral cooperaiton.
“There are no contradictions or disagreements between our countries. As brotherly nations, we will continue to strengthen our good-neighborly relations,” said the Kazakh President.
"The economy of the Kyrgyz Republic is developing at a rapid pace. We support this positive trend. The election of the Kyrgyz Republic as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is truly a historic event both for Kyrgyzstan itself and for the whole of Central Asia. On this momentous occasion, I have already sent my congratulations to President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov," said the President.
In turn, Marlen Mamataliyev thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the meeting and conveyed greetings from the Kyrgyz President, Sadyr Japarov.
"I would like to assure you that the Kyrgyz side supports the large-scale constitutional reforms being implemented under your leadership, which lay a solid foundation for building a just and progressive Kazakhstan. I sincerely wish you and the fraternal people of Kazakhstan peace, prosperity, and continued success in implementing the planned reforms," Mamataliyev said.
The sides discussed the issues of development of interparliamentary ties and effective legislative support of bilateral agreements, reached at the highest level.
The parties also exchanged views on the systemic socio-economic transformations being carried out in the two countries and reaffirmed commitment to the comprehensive development of strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier, it was reported that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Sadyr Japarov and the brotherly people of Kyrgyzstan on the country’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027-2028 term.
