Kazakhstan asks Czech Republic to support it as non-permanent member of UN Security Council

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Majilis deputy Kuanysh Sultanov has visited the Czech Republic as the Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan today, Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh MFA's press service.

In Prague, he had meetings with Czech President Miloš Zeman and Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Vojtech Filip. Kazakhstani MP handed Nursultan Nazarbayev's message to President Zeman with the request to support Kazakhstan's bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018. He also informed the Czech side of Kazakhstan's contribution to strengthening of regional and international stability and security, including nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation efforts and its multilateral diplomacy. The sides also touched upon the progress of implementation of the instructions given following the official visit of President Zeman to Kazakhstan in November 2014. At the meeting with Mr. Filip, the sides praised the stability of Kazakhstan-Czech inter-parliamentary ties and frequent exchange of visits between parliamentarians of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.
