Kazakh delegation joins Asia-Pacific Forum on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation in Bangkok

Kazakhstan's delegation, led by Ambassador Margulan Baimukhan, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UN ESCAP, has begun its work at the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum and Paperless Trade Week 2026 (APTFF x PTW 2026), Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry.

A delegation from Kazakhstan comprising representatives from the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Integration, and the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development has commenced its work at the forum.

The event is taking place at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from June 8 to 12, 2026, with the theme “Next Generation Trade Digitalization – Advancing Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation.”

Throughout the week, participants from more than 50 countries across the Asia-Pacific region will join high-level panels, interactive sessions, and knowledge-sharing dialogues. These activities aim to foster new perspectives and practical solutions covering all aspects of trade facilitation and digital transformation.

The Forum serves as one of the region’s key platforms for discussing digitalization of trade, modernization of logistics and customs procedures, and strengthening cooperation among Asia-Pacific countries to improve the efficiency and sustainability of international trade.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that Kazakhstan was elected to the Governing Council of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT).
