Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invites President of Brazil to visit Kazakhstan

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met today  Foreign Minister of Brazil Mauro Vieira, who arrived in Astana on an official visit, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Akorda.

During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Brazil is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in Latin America.

"I am confident that your visit to Kazakhstan is a quite timely and important event, which will give a powerful impetus to strengthening the bilateral relations. I would like to note with satisfaction the progressive development of multifaceted cooperation between our countries. A large delegation of businessmen has arrived with you, demonstrating serious intentions and responsible approach to cooperation with Kazakhstan," the President said.

The Head of State conveyed his greetings and warm wishes to President Lula da Silva and invited him to visit Kazakhstan.

Mauro Vieira noted that he had arrived in Kazakhstan on a personal instruction from the Brazilian President. According to him, both countries possess significant potential for further expansion of political, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

The sides discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation in areas such as energy, mining and metallurgy, agriculture, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

As reported before, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira arrived in Astana on an official visit and held talks with his Kazakh counterpart Yermek Kosherbayev.

Minister Kosherbayev announced that Kazakhstan and Brazil intend to increase trade turnover to $1 billion.

Kazakh and Brazilian companies are also discussing the launch of new agricultural projects, including the cultivation of organic soybeans in the steppes of Central Asia.

We also reported that a Kazakh kick-sharing company plans to expand its fleet of electric scooters in Brazilian cities to 200,000 units.
